What to Expect
Griffon Orientation – On-Campus
At Griffon Orientation (GO), we will walk you through all of the steps you need to take to be prepared to start your journey at MoWest. Students should be prepared to be available between 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on the day of their registration.
Here is what you can expect during your on campus GO session:
- Talk to an Academic Advisor and enroll in classes
- Review and complete important steps related to financial aid, health forms, and more
- Take your picture and get your Student ID
- Make connections with faculty, staff, current students and fellow first-year students

Make Your Mark: Submit your Design for the Class of Service T-Shirt
Are you a student with creative talents? We are looking for the next class t-shirt design! All freshmen for the incoming class of Summer or Fall 2026 are able to submit up to two designs, designs will be voted on by the entire class and the winning design will be featured on the official class t-shirt, banner and more! The winning designer will receive a $100 scholarship. Review the contest guidelines below and be sure to submit your design by June 29, 2026.
Entry Requirements:
- Entry must be submitted by an incoming first-year Griffon who is committed to Missouri Western State University for the Summer or Fall 2025 semester
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Limit of 2 entries per student
Design Specifications:
- Design should follow the theme of “Class of Service” and incorporate the phrase somewhere in the design
- The design must be produced in design software and submitted electronically in .pdf format (Designs using online t-shirt design tools will not be accepted)
- Art is limited to one side of a shirt created to fit within a 12″ x 10″ area
- Maximum of two colors, which should follow the MoWest brand (brand guidelines: https://missouriwestern.edu/brand/brand-guide/)
- Must be an original, unpublished work produced for the Class of Service T-Shirt Design Contest. Designs must be original to the student entering the design. No part of the design may be designed by a third party. The use of third-party licensed materials is expressly prohibited.
- Submissions using the MoWest logo or other brand elements must be consistent with MoWest’s brand guidelines.
