What can PLWP do for teachers? PLWP works with pre-service teachers and teachers of writing at all grade levels, primarily through university, and in all subjects. Our goals are improving student writing and learning, providing professional development, and expanding the professional roles of teachers.

During our annual summer Invitational Institute, teacher scholars prepare for leadership roles by by demonstrating effective practices, studying research, and improving knowledge of writing.

PLWP offers institutes for MWSU graduate credit as well as MWSU graduate courses. Learn more about institutes and courses and how to register here.

Since 2004, PLWP has served as a preliminary judging site for the Scholastic Writing Awards, a national annual middle school and high school writing and art contest.
