Poetry and Pictures

PowerPoint

Goal/Objective/Performance Indicator:  Design a 4 to 5 slide PowerPoint presentation.

Standard 1.9

You will be using all or part of a poem.  See the poetry sites list

You will need 2 or 3 pictures that relate to the parts of the poem that you have chosen to use.  See the picture sites as a guide for finding pictures.

Go to one of the poetry sites or a site you know about to find a poem that has lines that make good use of imagery.   Example:  Robert Frost’s poem Fire and Ice.

Using the pictures and the lines of a poem, design a PowerPoint presentation. This is a “digitized paper”.  Instead of assignments that have students typing their work and handing it in on a piece of paper, this assignment allows them to explore using text, pictures and even sound if one wishes.  Example—if a brook or stream is in the piece, a sound file of a flowing stream might be appropriate.  Try key word searches for wav  or midi files.

*    Title Slide

            Your name

            Date
