In recognition of national GIS (Geographic Information Systems) Day, the Missouri Western Geography Club and the Nu Eta chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon are hosting a panel of professionals in St. Joseph who use GIS in their careers. The panel will be held from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14  in Blum 220.

The panel will feature speakers from Herzog, St. Joseph Police Department, Missouri Western’s Department of Biology and Department of Education, Metropolitan Planning Office, Mo-Kan Regional Council, Buchanan County, and Snyder & Associates Engineering & Design.

This event is part of Geography Awareness Week, a U.S. Congress-recognized celebration. St. Joseph’s Mayor, Honorable Bill McMurray ’70, proclaimed Nov. 12-18 as Geography Awareness Week 2018. At Missouri Western, the week will also feature a chili cookoff to benefit the Campus Cupboard and a movie night.
