Service LearningService. It is one of our core values. We share the common purpose of serving students, one another, and the people of the region, and service learning plays a key role. Service learning engages students by taking what they learn in the classroom and applying it in real-world experiences in the community. Service learning may take on a variety of forms including direct service, working directly with the people in our community and indirect service, providing behind the scenes support. Many service learning opportunities are available through coursework as well as through the Center for Service. |
Community ServiceService. It is one of our core values. We share the common purpose of serving students, one another, and the people of the region. Missouri Western students engage in community service through our student organizations, Greek Life community, academic departments, and athletic teams. It’s our opportunity to give back. |
Civic EngagementAt Missouri Western students work to make a difference in our community and beyond through civic engagement. Working to make a difference in the civic life of our community using a combination of knowledge, skills, values and motivation learned, in part, in the classroom to make that difference. Get out the vote campaigns, Walk for the Homeless, and community health initiatives are just a few examples of where Griffons are out engaging in our community. |
