Artist Statement:
A lot of my artwork is inspired by Walt Disney animated movies and the animals that are around me. I find animals very interesting for the fact that each one is different. Since animals don’t exactly have facial expressions, I find it fun to give them one by using my self-taught knowledge of Walt Disney’s style. In my artwork I try to portray the realism in each picture but also giving them personality. For example, when I see a shabby cat, I give him a grumpy, possibly wise personality. The type of personality that you would see in an elderly gentleman.
When creating these drawings, my intent is to make someone view that particular animal a little differently. They are not useless things that can be thrown away or ignored; they are creatures with personalities and feelings.
