Alexis Carr hopes to become a curator and one day, director of an art museum. Last summer, she was one step closer to her goals when she was selected to complete an internship at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
“I was extremely proud to be able to represent MWSU in our nation’s capital at one of the largest institutions of art in the world,” she said. “Without the support of my professors and the opportunities I had for professional development, I could not have achieved so much.”
As a student, she founded the art history club, engaged in student-faculty research, and presented papers at national conferences.
