Why I’m a Griffon: The University helped me become an entrepreneur.
Stephanie Tripp ’16 said she didn’t know much about running a business before she enrolled in the Craig School of Business’s Applied Entrepreneurship course. But less than one year later, she is the owner and operator of Auntie Anne’s Pretzels in East Hills Mall in St. Joseph.
“My experience with the entrepreneur program was like no other,” Stephanie says. “They make sure you understand the ins and outs of business, and they help you every step of the way.”
Students in the Applied Entrepreneurship class visited the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Aspen Leaf Yogurt stores in St. Joseph every week to gain real-world experience and learn what it takes to be a successful store owner.
Stephanie said that even though she completed the class, the Craig School of Business professors are still available to help her, along with the Missouri Western business owners who completed the program and own and operate franchises and businesses across the country.
