The new Performing Arts addition will include an Instrument Rehearsal Hall for the Department of Music and a Studio Theater for the Department of Theatre, Cinema and Dance.
The 3000 square-foot Instrument Rehearsal Hall would house the jazz and wind ensembles, the orchestra, and the Golden Griffon Marching Band. The 40-foot high ceilings will offer strategic use of sound-absorbing and sound diffusing materials.
The Studio Theater will provide a performance venue for the Department of Theatre, Cinema and Dance. The room will feature technical support spaces and a tension grid that offers a flexible and safe working environment for the teaching and installation of theatrical lighting, theatrical rigging and scenography. The addition of this performance space will allow the larger, shared theater in Potter Hall to be more effectively utilized.
Rooftop Terrace
This open-air setting will be a unique asset for Missouri Western and the region. Academic and special events including film viewing, art exhibitions and musical performances are planned for this new location.
