Commencement Speakers
DANA VINSON ’24
Miss Dana Vinson, from Roland, Iowa, will graduate summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Animation.
Dana is the president and founder of Missouri Western’s Digital Animation Club. She served as the head of animation and president of Griffon University for Griffon Production House, participated in marching band and jazz band and served as secretary in the Alpha Chi national honor society and on the executive board for Phi Boota Roota national percussion fraternity.
Vinson has represented Missouri Western at numerous events, including SIGGRAPH, a conference on computer graphics and interactive technique.
Isaac Collins ’11
Isaac Lee Collins is a community entrepreneur, business coach, and speaker. He started his entrepreneurial journey fresh out of MWSU at 23 years old. Fast-forward twelve years and Isaac has had the honor of owning 8 for-profit businesses and one nonprofit in various industries from brick-and-mortar food, real estate investing/construction, health supplements, yoga therapy & training, to professional services. Currently, Isaac owns five Yogurtini Frozen Yogurt stores and Streamlined Profit Academy, a business coaching company. Isaac has discovered that his purpose is to utilize his entrepreneurial endeavors to have a positive community impact while teaching others to do the same. When Isaac isn’t working, you can find him spending quality time with his wife and two young children.
Inclement Weather Plan
The safety and security of our graduates and guests is of utmost importance. If severe weather is predicted to significantly impact commencement activities:
- A decision regarding postponement or cancellation will be made by midday on Friday, Dec. 13. The announcement will be made on Missouri Western’s website, social media channels and via email to students, faculty and staff.
- If Saturday’s commencement is canceled, it will be rescheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday Dec. 15.
- If weather prevents holding the ceremony on Sunday, the event will be canceled and students will be offered the opportunity to walk in the next Spring Commencement ceremony.
