To ensure equitable access to accessible seating for all students and their families during the commencement ceremony, the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) will permit one accompanying family member access to the accessible seating area along with the individual requiring accessible seating.
This adjustment is necessary to ensure that those genuinely in need of accessible seating receive the needed space and accommodations.
For questions or concerns regarding this adjustment, please contact the ARC at arc@missouriwestern.edu or call (816) 271-4330.
Today’s Commencement is an occasion to celebrate, but it is also a formal ceremony.
Commencement guests are asked to remain seated throughout the entire ceremony and respect the rights of others to view the ceremony in its entirety without disruptions or obstructions.
Please refrain from loud applause and cheers, as this can cause the names of some graduates to be drowned out. Each graduate deserves equal recognition for their accomplishments as they walk across the stage.
Guests will all be given the opportunity to applaud and cheer for their graduates after all graduates have walked across the stage.
Please do not use air horns, mechanical devices, or any type of noisemaker during the Commencement ceremony.
Thank you for respecting your graduate and all other graduates on this important occasion.
There will be no concessions. Guests will be allowed to enter with one bottle of water.
