Notice:

  • Missouri Western’s Early College Academy aligns start dates with the board-approved institutional calendar. No changes are made without the governing board’s approval. Partnering K-12 calendars are independent of the University and may differ. Students may withdraw from coursework in accordance with the Add/Drop/Withdrawal Early College Academy schedule.

  • Missouri Western’s Early College Academy dual credit or dual enrollment courses follow the same content and syllabus as the on-campus course. Faculty and instructors are required to use the department approved syllabus. If content change is needed, courses must move through the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee one year prior to implementation. Course materials shall not be altered once determined and approved by the department during the previous semester. No additional cost will be incurred after this point.

FERPA

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act or FERPA (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) provides certain rights for parents regarding their children’s education records. FERPA gives these rights to custodial and noncustodial parents alike, unless there is a court order, legally binding document, or State law that specifically provides to the contrary. When a student reaches 18 years of age or attends an institution of postsecondary education at any age, he or she becomes an “eligible student,” and all rights under FERPA transfer from the parent to the student.
