Griffon Link
The Griffon Link consists of a variety of interest groups that you can join to make connections with other students who share that interest, hobby, or passion of yours. Each group is led by Link Leaders who will help you connect in group activities as well as one-on-one with other new students.
Join Griffon Link to:
- Meet People: The Link is a great way to meet students who share a similar interest, passion, or common experience.
- Make MWSU Your Home: By attending events, you can make this university feel like a much smaller community. It is our hope that you feel like you truly belong here starting during your very first week at MWSU.
- Get Involved: If you aren’t quite sure which of the nearly 100 student organizations is right for you, the Griffon Link is a great place to start. You can start to experience what MWSU has to offer by getting involved with a variety of campus activities and making connections with both new and returning students.

Would you like to meet some new students at MWSU? Are you hoping to feel comfortable at our university? Do you like free food and MWSU merch? If so, you should consider joining the Link, a fun and flexible way to get to know fellow students and dive into our community at MWSU.
The Griffon Link events take place at least once every two weeks throughout the semester. That could be a campus/off-campus event that is specific to your interest group, an outing that all groups can attend, or hanging out with the Link Leader. Best of all – nearly all of the events are free to you! To find out what events are coming up, you’ll check your group’s communication channel on Band (download the free app!).
By signing up to join a Griffon Link group, you are requesting to be added to a casual social group led by Link Leaders— current students with similar interests to you! Link Leaders will make sure you know about various events going on at campus, and provide a friendly face to join you at those events! There are no attendance requirements or expectations as a member of a Link group AND you can opt out at any time by simply removing yourself from the group. Griffon Link’s goal is to help you find your new Griffon squad at Missouri Western without being overwhelming!
Absolutely! Any student who is looking to connect to other students and to MWSU should join the Link.
You are welcome to join the Griffon Link at any point during the semester. The earlier, the better – that way you can experience as many events as possible. All you need to do is fill out the 2020 Griffon Link Interest Form. By signing up, you are agreeing to be placed in a group within the Band mobile app in August. Signing up is low commitment -you can opt-out at any time!
A link is “the state of being connected.” The purpose of the Griffon Link is to connect new students to people, events, and organizations at MWSU.
