Medical Insurance
The cost of medical care in the United States is generally very high. Legally, all F-1 and J-1 visa holders are required to have health insurance, except for government sponsored students. The University contracted the most cost effective medical insurance with LewerMark Student Medical Insurance.

LewerMark
On your student account with LewerMark, you can find information on new student orientation, explanation of benefits, location of health care providers, mental health counselors, emergency service coverage, and online doctor appointments. Students will be covered by LewerMark year-round in every country that is not their home country.
Esry Student Health Center (On-campus)
Students should visit Esry Student Health Center for every NON-emergency or NON-urgent health concern. For F-1 and J-1 visa holders, services provided at the health center will be charged directly to LewerMark, normally, at no additional cost to students.

Urgent Care at St. Joseph
The city of St. Joseph has the Urgent Care of St. Joseph that you can visit without an appointment. When you go to the doctor’s office, you might have to present your ID (a passport or a driver’s license) and insurance card. Also, even if you have insurance, you may need to pay a small fee which is called a co-pay.
