The Office of Grants & Sponsored Programs (OGSP) provides support to faculty/staff of Missouri Western State University in their pursuit of external funding for educational, creative, and scholarly activities on campus.
Grant Submission Timelines:
These timeframes have been put in place in order to provide sufficient time for the documents to be reviewed and approved by all the authorized personnel, thereby facilitating a smooth and timely proposal submission process for the researcher(s).
Any grant proposal submission by a MWSU employee requires a stepwise completion, submission and approval of two online forms and relevant documents (https://www.missouriwestern.edu/grants/). Faculty are strongly recommended to adhere to the following time frame when considering a grant proposal submission:
- The online internal MWSU pre-proposal form needs to be submitted 3-4 weeks prior to the actual proposal submission date. This form is very simple and requires some general information about the proposed project and a draft budget (formatted as per guidelines of the granting agency)
- The online grant proposal submission and routing form (MWSU dynamic form) needs to be submitted at least one week (5 business days) prior to the actual submission date. This form requires the final completed proposal, along with the final budget as attachments. Once this form and the relevant documents are submitted, no major changes may be made to the proposal by the investigator/researcher.
- Final submission of the grant to the appropriate agency can only take place after step # 2 has been approved by authorized personnel.
- If the proposal requires submission by the MWSU AOR, for example an NSF proposal, then the final completed proposal [linked to any collaborator(s)], including all the required documents needs to be shared with the AOR at least 2 business days prior to the actual due date for submission, as listed by the granting agency.
