  • REGULATIONS REGARDING CREDIT BY EXAMINATION
(For MWSU students only) If you are not an MWSU student, click the box that says I am eligible to receive credit.

You are eligible to receive credit by examination at Missouri Western State University only if you meet the following requirements:
    • You have applied for admission to Missouri Western State University and paid the matriculation fee.
    • You must not be enrolled in a course for which an exam is being requested.
    • If you are a transfer student, you must have complete transcripts of previous college credit in the Records Office before written permission for test out will be granted.
You are ineligible to receive credit by examination if:
    • You have earned prior credit in the course.
    • You have audited the course.
    • You have attempted the course and received grade assessment of W or F.
    • You have taken a college course or courses which contain the same basic material.
    • You have applied for credit which would make you eligible for graduation at the end of the semester.
Normally, students request credit by examination early in their college career to avoid ineligibility at a later date.  Credit by examination is not applicable towards the fulfillment of the 30 credit hour residency requirement. If the eligibility requirements listed above have been met, you may repeat any examination three months after the previous attempt.
