Students in music technology courses at Missouri Western State University will present their “sonic interpretation” of works of art at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 21 at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art, 2818 Frederick Ave.

Students the Introduction to Computer Music and Music for Multimedia and Internet Applications course taught by Dr. Michael Austin, assistant professor of music, have chosen paintings and sculpture from the museum’s permanent collection and have created sound design projects that help visitors “listen” to the works of art.

The audio tour will begin at 5:30 p.m. Students will lead visitors through the gallery and play their aural artwork in front of the visual artwork that inspired it. Visitors can enter the galleries for a donation of any amount and can participate in the concurrent wine tasting for $10.
