The Missouri Western State University Ambassadors will hold their annual Night at the Ritz fundraiser on Friday, May 1. The reception, “Centennial Garden,” will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Remington Hall Atrium. The cost is $35 per person, and reservations must be made by Monday, April 27 by calling 816-271-5646 or emailing holtz@missouriwestern.edu. Proceeds provide scholarships to nontraditional students at Missouri Western.
Night at the Ritz will feature heavy hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar, a silent auction and a raffle. The Bushman Planetarium, located near the atrium, will offer a free show. Silent auction items include a grill valued at $229 and a pair of season tickets to the Performing Arts Association 2015-2016 season, valued at $350.
The Ambassadors is a volunteer organization of women on campus and in the community who recognize the importance of Missouri Western’s presence in the region. Their mission is to serve as a bridge to the community. The Ambassadors focus on supporting nontraditional students and annually host the Night at the Ritz event to raise funds for scholarships for nontraditional students. Since 1989, the Ambassadors have awarded more than $350,000 in scholarships and grants to nontraditional students. Night at the Ritz is open to both Ambassador members and non-members.
