The fifth annual Herp-O-Rama will be on Saturday, June 11, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in a new location – the Remington Nature Center on the banks of the Missouri River.
This event is designed to educate people about the wonderful world of amphibians and reptiles and is geared towards all ages. There will be educational exhibits and talks, opportunities to see and touch various amphibians and reptiles, crafts, and Jon Casey will be there with Casey’s Creatures.
Previously the event was held at the Missouri Department of Conservation office at Missouri Western State University. Moving to the Remington Nature Center, 1502 McArthur Drive, will provide more space and offer additional opportunities, such as a concession stand, that were not available in the past. Admission to Remington Nature Center is $3 for adults, $2 for children, and $1 for seniors.
Additionally, naturalists will offer educational talks from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, June 10. The talks are free and open to the public.
Herp-O-Rama is sponsored by Remington Nature Center, Missouri Western, Pony Express Amphibian and Reptile Society, Squaw Creek National Wildlife Refuge, The Center for Snake Conservation and Casey’s Creatures.
