Dr. Kostis Hassiotis, an international oboist and professor, will visit Missouri Western State University for a guest lecture and guest recital on Wednesday, April 19. Both events are free and open to the public.
Dr. Hassiotis teaches at the University of Macedonia and the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki. As a soloist, he has performed throughout the world, including in Greece, Germany and England, playing both oboe and English horn. His repertoire includes masterpieces from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and conventional 20th century music, as well as more contemporary pieces.
The guest lecture will be at 10 a.m. April 19 in the Instrumental Rehearsal Hall, Potter Hall room 108. The recital/master class will be at 3 p.m. April 19 in the Choral Rehearsal Hall, Potter Hall room 112.
