The Bushman Planetarium at Missouri Western State University will offer public showings at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 18 and Thursday, April 20. The planetarium is located inside Agenstein Hall. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students, children and senior citizens.

The April 18 show will be “Future Moon,” honoring the Apollo astronauts who first landed on the moon on July 20, 1969, and the children of today that may someday return. The show is narrated by Walter Cronkite.

The April 20 show will be “We Choose Space,” a show for audiences of all ages who dream of space and wonder about the future of human spaceflight. This show is also narrated by Cronkite, the St. Joseph native honored at Missouri Western’s Walter Cronkite Memorial.

The Bushman Planetarium features a Digistar 4 projection system and a dome that is tilted slightly, rather than directly overhead, making viewing easier. A 17-channel stereo sound system enhances the viewing experience.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at www.missouriwestern.edu/planetarium or in person at Agenstein Hall, room 140, or at the door if available. Doors open 20 minutes before show time. For more information, visit the website or call 816-271-4288.
