The Department of Theatre, Cinema and Dance in the School of Fine Arts at Missouri Western State University will hold open auditions for the upcoming production of “Spring Awakening” starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9 in the Potter Hall Theater.

Those auditioning are asked to prepare a 60-second monologue showing some range of teenage angst (and also suppressing that feeling) and a 32-bar cut of a rock-style song. Please do not sing from the show. There will also be a movement call at the audition, so dress appropriately.

Callbacks are at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10.

“Spring Awakening” is a rock opera for mature audiences that opened on Broadway in 2006. It will be produced at Missouri Western Feb. 23 through March 3.
