March 7, 2019— Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has appointed Rick Ebersold and Al Landes, both of St. Joseph, to the Missouri Western State University Board of Governors. Ebersold and Landes both attended Missouri Western, and both started working for St. Joseph-based Herzog Contracting Corp in 1972.
Landes is President and COO of Herzog Contracting Corp. Landes has served as the past president of Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America and AGC of California. He has also served as past president of the National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC) as well as The Beavers and their Charitable Trust. Landes was appointed to a vacant seat. His term will expire Oct. 29, 2023.
Ebersold served as president of Herzog Services, Inc., from 1992-2016 and is currently a director of the company. He has served as a board member of the NRC, including two years as board chair, and was inducted into the NRC Hall of Fame in 2016. Ebersold also served three years on the Railway Engineering Maintenance Suppliers Association Board of Directors. Ebersold was appointed to a vacant seat. His term will expire Oct. 29, 2021.
Both appointments are subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate. If both are confirmed, the Missouri Western Board of Governors will have no vacancies, with seven voting members and a student governor.
