Oct. 11, 2021–After a one-year hiatus in 2020 due to COVID-19, Missouri Western State University’s Golden Griffon Marching Band will host its annual Tournament of Champions marching competition on Tuesday, Oct. 12.
Twenty area high schools will compete on Craig Field at Spratt Memorial Stadium beginning at 1 p.m. The Golden Griffon Marching Band will give an exhibition performance following the competition.
The competition schedule includes:
- Riverton, 1 p.m.
- Lafayette, 1:15 p.m.
- Mid-Buchanan, 1:30 p.m.
- Sherwood, 1:45 p.m.
- Albany, 2 p.m.
- Benton, 2:15 p.m.
- Lathrop, 2:30 p.m.
- Lawson, 2:45 p.m.
- Excelsior Springs, 3:15 p.m.
- Maysville, 3:30 p.m.
- Odessa, 3:45 p.m.
- Savannah, 4 p.m.
- Raytown, 4:15 p.m.
- North Kansas City, 4:30 p.m.
- St. Joseph Central, 5 p.m.
- William Chrisman, 5:15 p.m.
- Staley, 5:30 p.m.
- Lewis Central, 5:45 p.m.
- Platte County, 6:15 p.m.
- Oak Park, 6:30 p.m.
- Golden Griffon Marching Band Exhibition, 7 p.m.
Spectator admission is $8 for adults and students age 13 and over, $5 for seniors (65+) and free for 12 and under.
