Nov. 3, 2021–The annual Walk for the Homeless will return to Downtown St. Joseph on Friday, Nov. 5.
Hosted by the Missouri Western State University Social Work Program, Northwest Health Services and Summers Motors, the walk raises awareness of homelessness in St. Joseph. Walkers are guided through downtown as they visit local resources in the community which provide aid to the homeless population. Money raised is used to help members of the homeless community obtain I.D. cards, birth certificates and transportation.
Registration is $20 and includes a walk t-shirt and food. Participants can register in advance at http://griff.vn/WHL21 or sign up the day of the walk. Registration will begin at 4 p.m. at the Northwest Health Services Downtown Center, 6th and Messanie.
