Nov. 29, 2022–The social work program at Missouri Western State University will host its annual Human Rights Fair on Thursday, Dec. 1. The event includes a poster session and a keynote speech by social work alum Alex Peters ‘15. The Human Rights Fair is free and open to the public.

The poster session will be presented by social work students in the Blum Union lobby from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The juried posters highlight and explore human rights issues.

The keynote speech by Peters will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Enright Community Room, Spratt Hall room 214. Peters completed her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in juvenile delinquency and a minor in childhood studies at Missouri Western, and received her Master of Social Work from the University of Arizona. Peters runs her own private practice where she sees a variety of patients, with a special interest in aiding transgender individuals with access to transitioning services.
