March 8, 2023–The Center for Military and Veteran Services at Missouri Western State University invites all veterans and active duty military personnel to an informational session about the new PACT Act at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 14 in Eder Hall, room 200. The session is free and open to the public.
The PACT Act, formally The Sergeant First Class (SFC) Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act, expands Veterans Affairs (VA) health care and benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange and other toxic substances. It is perhaps the largest health care and benefit expansion in VA history.
A VA representative will provide a brief informational presentation and answer any questions. She will be going over how the PACT Act expands coverage by the VA, who qualifies for VA services, disability claims and more. Light refreshments will be served.
The Center for Military and Veterans Services exists to empower our military-connected students to achieve their academic, personal and professional goals as they move to, through and beyond Missouri Western. Programs and services include GI Bill, military TA information and assistance; in-state tuition; Student Veterans of America (SVA) chapter; VA work study; Computers, WiFi and TV in the lounge; and VA-Supported Education.
