Feb. 23, 2024–The Board of Governors at Missouri Western State University unanimously approved a three-year contract extension for Dr. Elizabeth Kennedy, Missouri Western’s president. The contract was finalized during the Board’s Feb. 22 meeting. It takes effect July 1, 2024, after Dr. Kennedy’s current contract expires, and continues through June 30, 2027.
“The Board of Governors appreciates Dr. Kennedy’s leadership of Missouri Western State University,” said Rick Ebersold, Board of Governors chair. “The partnerships that she has created and strengthened on campus and in the community have laid the foundation for Missouri Western’s continued success.”
“I am honored and humbled by the Board’s confidence in me, and eager to continue the good work that we have begun,” Dr. Kennedy said. “This decision also reflects the Board’s confidence in all of our faculty, staff and students, whose hard work and dedication make Missouri Western the great place that it is.”
Dr. Kennedy was named Missouri Western’s sixth president in February, 2021, after serving six months as interim president.
