May 4, 2022–Missouri Western State University will celebrate the accomplishments of more than 500 graduates during the Spring 2022 Commencement Ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 7 on Craig Field at Spratt Memorial Stadium. The ceremony is open to the public. Gates will open at 9:30 a.m. For those unable to attend, the ceremony will also be streamed live on Missouri Western’s YouTube channel, and at missouriwestern.edu/commencement/

Frank Luzsicza

Frank Luzsicza ’99, commencement speaker

The guest speaker for the ceremony will be Frank Luzsicza, a 1999 graduate of Missouri Western who is currently CEO of the cybercrime investigation and prevention firm Lodestone, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, and London, England. Luzsicza has spent more than 20 years leading companies or large divisions of companies in the cybersecurity field, and is a supportive advocate of Missouri Western’s science programs.

Two graduating students will also speak: Hannah Berry, an economics major from Liberty, Missouri, and Matthew Bobela, a music education major from St. Joseph.

Missouri Western will confer 463 undergraduate degrees and 60 graduate degrees to students who have graduated this spring or are on track to graduate in the summer.

Other Spring 2022 Commencement related activities include:

  • International and Multicultural Graduation Celebration, 3 p.m. Friday, May 6, Enright Community Rooms, Spratt Hall rooms 214-216. Students of color, international students, members of the LGBTQ+ community, first-generation students, non-traditional students and students with disabilities will be recognized and celebrated.
  • School of Nursing and Health Professions Pinning Ceremony, 8:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, Fulkerson Center. Graduates of Missouri Western’s nursing and health professions programs are presented with pins symbolic of their chosen careers.
  • Law Enforcement Academy Graduation, 6 p.m. Friday, June 10.
