A Missouri Western State University professor will talk about the Syrian refugee crisis in Europe at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27 in Popplewell Hall, room 207. The presentation is free and open to the public. Attendees are welcome to bring their lunch; drinks and dessert will be provided.
Dr. Melinda Kovács, assistant professor of political science, will discuss responses to the Syrian refugees from within the European Union in general and Hungary, in particular. Dr. Kovács, who has been at Missouri Western since 2012, is a native of Hungary.
The presentation is the first in the Provost’s Series on World Issues, which will feature Missouri Western faculty members sharing their expertise in an effort to foster engagement with global issues.
