April 9, 2019—A film shot by Missouri Western State University students last summer has been selected for KC FilmFest International 2019 at Cinemark on the Plaza, 526 Nichols Road in Kansas City, Missouri. “The Eclipse” will be shown during the Block of Shorts: Sci-Fi at 9 p.m. Saturday, April 13.
Directed by Toby Lawrence, assistant professor of cinema, “The Eclipse” portrays a world where the ozone layer has been depleted and the power has gone out. A young woman, Kass, treks out into the burning sun to save her community.
