While many in the St. Joseph area have taken part in Chiefs Training Camp for years, 2019 marks the first for Missouri Western State University’s new president, Matt Wilson.
“I had an idea of what Chiefs Camp might be, but until you’re here on our campus and you just see the excitement…” Wilson said. “Even though I was told that it was going to be a great event and it was going to draw people in, I just don’t think that I understood the magnitude of it.”
Wilson, a Utah native, grew up as a Denver Broncos fan, though jokes that Chiefs fan should not hold this against him. As the young man left Utah and ventured to Philadelphia, his love for the Broncos shifted the the Eagles who at the time were coached by Andy Reid and had Mark Donovan as vice president.
