Wes is thankful for the opportunities that Missouri Western and faculty provided.
“Thank you for supporting me, guiding me, teaching me, and planting a seed of a dream in my mind and heart. Thank you for caring about your students…especially this one.”
Wes Smith ’03 had a mind for business, but the inner workings of the human psyche fascinated him.
While at Missouri Western, Wes took a course on Industrial-Organizational Psychology that would change his life forever. Wes worked closely with our faculty and discovered he had what it takes to graduate and have a future in this field.
Wes went on to get a Master’s Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology at Adler School of Psychology. After graduating with his Master’s, Wes was working at Milwaukee Tool in Greenwood, Mississippi. Fast forward six years later and he is now the senior manager of talent development for the Mississippi Region.
Wes uses his degree in many situations. “I spend my days as a facilitator, instructional designer, impact evaluator, coach, and leader,” Wes said. “I get to build programs to train the next generation of leaders and professionals for an amazing company!”
