FAFSA Help Day

Tuesday, April 1–Esports Arena
The Financial Aid Office will be hosting a FAFSA Help Day in the Esports Arena on Tuesday, April 1st from 11am to 1pm and from 5pm to 7pm! Experts from the Financial Aid Office will be available to help students with filling out the 2025-26 FAFSA and answer FAFSA questions. No appointment needed!

Grad Fest

April 15-16–Leah Spratt Hall Atrium
Grad Fest is a graduation fair for all graduating students where they can pick up their cap and gown, connect with campus resources, and fill out outcome surveys. Grad Fest will be held over two days this semester: Tuesday, April 15 from 10 am to 4 pm and Wednesday, April 16 from 10 am to 6 pm in Leah Spratt Hall Atrium.

Multidisciplinary Research Day

Friday, April 25–10:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.–Fulkerson Center
This semi-annual poster session provides an excellent opportunity for our students to share the results of their research with a varied audience. It also provides a chance to explore research in a variety of disciplines. This poster session is open to the public.

Spring 2025 Commencement

Saturday, May 10–Looney Arena
Spring 2025 Commencement will be held over the course of two ceremonies. College of Science & Health will begin at 11:00 a.m. and General Studies, College of Business & Professional Studies, and College of Liberal Arts will follow at  3:00 p.m.

Conference on Applied Learning in Higher Education (CALHE)

We hosted the 17th annual Conference on Applied Learning which gave our students and faculty the opportunity to share experiences and research conducted over the course of the school year. The conference included a keynote speaker as well as other presentations. As Missouri’s dedicated applied learning institution, we are dedicated to providing every student with hands-on learning experiences before graduation.

 

BSN Class of December 2026 welcomed into clinical practice

The BSN Class of December 2026 was welcomed into clinical practice with the Lighting of the Lamp Nursing White Coat Ceremony this week. We cannot wait to see how this group carries on the legacy of Missouri Western Nursing.

Griffons compete at the indoor track and field national championships

Missouri Western’s Makenzie Garr and Allyssa Mahone concluded the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships with All-American Second Team honors. Garr finished ninth in shot put while Mahone broke a school record in weight throw and finished on the podium in sixth-place.

Congratulations to both Garr and Mahone!

 

Biology students spend spring break exploring

Griffons in the Biology Department spent the beginning of their spring break with an applied learning experience: restoring a threatened habitat in southern Missouri.

These wildlife conservation and management students worked to clear invasive trees above ground and then went underground to study the relationship between surface habitat and a cave ecosystem.
