Now that your student is attending Missouri Western, they are responsible for making many of their own decisions, including those concerning their health. You can rest assured that your student has access to high-quality healthcare options from a health center which strives to promote the health and wellness of all Missouri Western students.
The Esry Student Health Center is staffed with a family nurse practitioner, registered nurse, administrative coordinator, office assistant and student employee. The center provides outpatient clinical services, which include, but are not limited to, diagnosis and treatment of acute illness and injuries, as well as a variety of lab tests and screenings.
All services remain confidential between staff and student only. The center may not release information about a student to anyone without the student’s signed authorization.
There is a nominal fee for services, laboratory and medications when students visit the health center. Students will not be denied health services because of their inability to pay at the time services are provided. Charges will be added to the student’s account with the Missouri Western Business Office.
Each year, the health center sponsors a health fair, where students can learn about a variety of health topics, check their vitals and get a free flu shot. This year, the health fair will be held from 1-4 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 5 in the Fulkerson Center.
