On October 13, 22 Missouri Western students became the newest members of Alpha Chi. Alpha Chi invites students who academically rank in the top 10% of their Junior and Senior class to join. The organization, sponsored by Drs. Teddi Deka, Angela Haas, and Phillip Frank, with officers Jordan Jennings (President), Delaynee Ross (Vice President), Kelly Oliphant (Secretary) and Zachary Schank (Treasurer), invited inductees to a ceremony along with their most influential professors, who receive the chapter’s Compass Awards.
The ceremony was streamed live for inductees’ families and those who could not attend. Dr. Elizabeth Kennedy, Interim President of Missouri Western State University, addressed the inductees regarding leadership and future opportunities.
The inductees were Brittany Addison, Rylee Aggus, Tori Barrett, Hannah Berry, Tennyson Clary, Whitney Davidson, Jennifer Dorris, Cassidy Edson, Mackenzie Grantham, Jordan Holkesvik, Nicole Jackson, Madyson Lytton, Tanner Merwin, Skyler Murphy, Madelyn O’Connell, Mackenzie O’Neill, Grace Slater-Pinnick, Callie Smith, Julia Stofus, Michael Thomson, Raechel Tittor, and Emily Weese.
Professors receiving Compass Awards as most influential professors were Drs. Pam Clary, Todd Eckdahl, Grey Endres, Michael Grantham, Melinda Kovacs, Jay Lemanski, Jon Mandracchia, Natalie Mikita, Mark Mills, Madeline Rislow, Kristen Walton, and Corey White.
