The beginning of January is just too quiet. As we prepare to welcome students back to campus for Spring, it becomes apparent that students bring life, joy, and inspiration to our work and campus. Housing and Residence Life is excited for the upcoming semester. From new programs and interaction opportunities to re-contracting for next year, the Spring semester is always busy!
Hall Reopening
Halls will reopen at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15. Students are welcome to return to their rooms after that date. Students new to housing are encouraged to arrive between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday to complete their check-in process. As always, if your student has not been feeling well or is displaying COVID-19 symptoms we ask that they remain home until cleared by their doctor.
Preparing for Omicron
Should the need arise, Housing & Residence Life maintains many isolation rooms across campus housing. Students who test positive for COVID-19 are first asked if they can return home. If not, they will be moved to one of these isolation rooms. Meals will be delivered throughout each day of their isolation. Campus continues to offer COVID-19 testing, by appointment, through the Esry Health Center. Remember – campus continues to have a mask mandate in all public spaces which includes the residence halls.
Updates to Services
We are proud to announce updated services for our students this semester. All buildings have been transitioned to a new lock system. Students are now able to use their Student ID to unlock their building, suite, and room doors. If your student has not picked up a new student ID from the University Police Department, remind them to do that soon to take advantage of this great feature!
To provide the best internet experience possible, we have partnered with Apogee. They have completely updated our wired and wireless internet within the residence halls. Apogee offers 24/7 support through phone, email, or instant message, as well as a mobile app to manage all of your devices. Students can register their devices at home by downloading the Apogee app. Devices will then automatically connect when you get to campus!
