On Friday, April 22, Missouri Western will host the inaugural Griffon Applied Learning Showcase. This Gold Friday event will feature the applied learning that students have engaged in over the course of the academic year including poster and oral presentations, art exhibits, performances, short films, and more. To help us celebrate we are inviting our regional community, alumni, and the family and friends of students to come to MWSU and experience the event. Event schedule is as follows:
Student Art Exhibit in the Potter Gallery – 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Production/Marketing/Media Festival – 10 a.m.-noon
Featuring the work of students engaged in multimedia formats
Virtual Applied Learning Event – 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Providing a forum for MWSU distance education students to present the results of their applied learning activities
Vocal Lab – 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Featuring student practices and performances
Multidisciplinary Research Day – noon-1:30 p.m.
A poster session featuring the work of students who have completed research projects over the course of the academic term.
Oral Presentations of Applied Learning – 1-2:30 p.m.
Providing a forum for the presentation of research and creative works in oral form
Vocal Performances by Missouri Western Students – 2-3 p.m.
Missouri Western Jazz Band Performance – 3-4 p.m.
Academic Programs/Departments Open House – 4-5:30 p.m.
Visit academic departments across campus to see and experience their applied learning spaces
Griffon Film Festival at the Missouri Theater – 5:30-9 p.m.
Featuring senior thesis films and films created by talented high school students across the region
