This year, Missouri Western is offering a pilot program to help your student stay on track toward their degree during our extended winter break. In December and January, we will launch a Wintersession, offering four high-demand courses in an online format.
The four-week courses will be offered Dec. 10-Jan. 15, with a holiday break Dec. 24-Jan. 3.
The courses we will offer this year are
CHE101 – General Chemistry
ENG104 – College Writing and Rhetoric
GEO100 – World Geography
PHL230 – Ethics
We have chosen these courses because they often represent hurdles that sometimes slow a student’s progress toward their degree. In most cases, we are not able to offer enough sections in the fall or spring semesters to meet the demand. We will review this program’s success in order to determine whether to provide a similar opportunity in the future. You can learn more by visiting the Wintersession website.
Registration for Wintersession will take place at the same time as registration for the spring semester, starting Oct. 26.
If your student does not need to take any of these courses but would still like the opportunity to move forward with their degree, encourage them to take a look at the opportunities with the Center for Service. These experiences can earn them credit without any cost!
