Fall Griffon Experience | October 12, 2024
Are you interested in what it’s like to be a Griffon? Take an opportunity to come to our campus and see all the different resources and majors that Missouri Western has to offer its students. Breakout sessions and tours will help familiarize prospective students with life on campus. After your complimentary lunch, you will have the opportunity to try out equipment, tour simulation labs, and get a taste of the Griffon experience through hands on learning activities with faculty.
Learning Laboratory
Join us for an in-depth look at how Missouri Western does science! The amount of field experience Griffons get in the hard sciences ensures that after they graduate, they’ll have the skills necessary to enter into the highly competitive worlds of Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Wildlife Conservation & Management, Geography, and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Don’t miss out on the chance to get your hands dirty with hands-on, interactive demonstrations throughout the day.

A True Crime Halloween
Whodunnit?! Find out as we solve the Mystery of the Missing Mace. Enjoy the day as you learn about majors and disciplines centered around the justice system. Students will see a criminology lab and do spatter analysis, draw connections between themes, motives, and research who stole our coveted ceremonial mace while collecting clues and working together to find the culprit. As a tribute to Missouri Western’s applied learning mission, students will get hands-on experience with what it is like to study humans and how they interact with their environments. Showcased majors are: Forensic Investigation, Chemistry, Psychology, Law, Legal Assistant, and Criminal Justice.

From inserting an IV, seeing dissected hearts, to crisis intervention skills, this event will show you what it’s like to learn like a Griffon. Showcased majors are: Biology-Health Sciences, Health and Exercise Science, Nursing, Health Information Management, Population Health Management, Physical Therapist Assistant, Medical Laboratory Science, Social Work, and Psychology.
